I am from Ecuador but currently not based in the country. Can I still join the event?
No, you must be residing in Ecuador at the time of participation.
I already graduated from university. Can I apply?
Yes, we welcome young professionals up to 35 years’ old.
I am not specialised in a water-related field. Can I still apply?
Yes! The challenge welcomes students from all academic backgrounds, including social sciences, engineering, business/economics, natural sciences, etc. Passion for water, climate, and environmental sustainability is what matters most.
How can I register for the program?
Prepare the documents needed and register yourself through this link until 19 April 2025, 11:59 PM (GMT-5).
Should I apply individually or as part of a group?
You should apply as an individual. If you are selected, the program committee will assign you to a team.
I have a disability. Can I still apply?
Absolutely. People with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Let us know in the registration form how we can best support your participation.
Is there a registration fee to participate?
No. Participation in the UNESCO Amazon Water Resilience Challenge – Ecuador Edition is completely free!
Do I need to submit an English test result, such as TOEFL/IELTS, to prove my proficiency?
No, if you understand and speak basic English it is an advantage but not mandatory.
Will I receive a certificate after completing the challenge?
Yes! Certificates of participation will be awarded to all participants who successfully complete the program. Winning teams will receive special recognition on their certificates.
What does the winning team receive?
Winning teams will receive seed-money to implement their solutions.
Will the challenge be conducted online or offline?
The program will follow a hybrid format, with both online and in-person activities.
